Heavy wear on existing sections of the DJ, stamped "Discussion Copy," which appears to be a publicity copy of the first edition. Violet cloth boards are quite sunned on all surfaces, spine is sunned to tan, rubbed on the corners and head/tail of spine, small tear head of spine, also stamped "Discussion Copy." 1929 first edition. First edition of Rex Stout's first published book. All orders packed with care, dust jackets protected by Brodart sleeve, independent bookseller since 2011
