About This Item
First edition hardcover, with dust jacket, published by Little, Brown, 1960. A posthumous novel, that was completed by Elinore Denniston. Accurately identifying the edition of Loring's books can be tricky. Loring's titles from 1938 to 1950, as well as her posthumous titles, were first published by Little, Brown. Since this is one of her posthumous books published by Little, Brown from 1960, this copy is a first edition. In this story, Myles Langdon has returned to his home town in New England after a year in South America. He is engaged to Sunny Jerome, though he does have strong feelings for her older sister Ann, what shall he do? The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped, the original price of $3.75 is printed on the top corner of the front flap. Jacket only has some light edge wear to the bottom edge, and some very light sun fading to the spine. 5-1/2" X 7-3/4", 275 pages. Bright yellow colored cover boards, with the author name and title imprinted on the front cover and spine in red. All lettering on the cover boards is bright and crisp. Corners are not bumped or creased, no edge wear to the cove boards. There is a date written in blue pen ink on the front paste-down page - '1966' - about 1/2" long and 1/4" tall. No further writing besides that though. Binding is tight and square. Edges of the text block are clean. This copy is not a remainder, not a library discard. We have several Emilie Loring titles listed.
