'The Horse's Mouth' was first published in 1944, and follows the tale of Gulley Jimson, a con artist.Written by Joyce Cary (1888-1957), an Anglo-Irish novelist.Edited and with a preface, notes and bibliography by Andrew Wright.Illustrated with a self-portrait and eight illustrations by the author.This is a limited edition, presented with a slipcase. In the publisher's original paper covered boards. Externally lovely, spine is slightly faded, and otherwise with general wear. Slipcase is a little worn and faded but remains structurally sound. Ownership bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally firmly bound, pages are bright and clean. Near Fine

Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
