The base of the spine lacks a triangle of leather two inches high at the center, top four inches of rear hinge cracked, also three inches to the top and two inches at bottom of front hinge, bottom outside corner show damp stain across bottom edge of first ten leaves, lacks end-papers, only minor toning and several small tears, the text-block is tight and the boards are only beginning to show at three corners. ; 4to ; Original leather, 964, [28]p., the issue without the 8 plates and map. ** Hills #209. McCorison #1366. American Imprint #24829, the first Vermont bible. Inscribed "Masonic Bible of the North Star Lodge No. 8, Lancaster N.H. June 24th A.M. 5842(?) (1812 added in pencil), Presented to John Savage for his Masonic Conduct for the last twenty six years. A. Going(?), Secretary." on the first blank leaf. There are also two pages of manuscript Savage family records. .
