The first edition, first impression of this work, in the very scarce publisher's original price unclipped dust wrapper.A thrilling collection of works of short fiction about life in the Navy, by Sir Graham John Bower, who wrote under the pseudonym Klaxon.Bower was an Irish colonial official of the British Empire, who after his Naval service was made Imperial secretary to the High Commissioner for Southern Africa, Sir Hercules Robinson. In September 1898, he was appointed Colonial Secretary of the Colony of Mauritius. In the publisher's original pictorial cloth binding, with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, bright, with areas of fading to boards. Dust wrapper a touch age toned, with small closed tear to tail of front wrap, and minor chipping to back strip head and tail. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright. Very Good Indeed
