Decorative borders on each page, black & white photographs. A collection of writings by, and verse inspired by, the 77th Infantry Division during World War I, now known as The Lost Battalion. The soldiers of this unit, commanded by Major Charles Whittlesey, were trapped in the Argonne Forest by German troops and rescue after heavy casualties. Their story inspired two films, one in 1919 and a remake in 2001.
