Between pages 204 and 205 there are 16 pages of black and white photographs and reproductions of illustrations. At the rear of the book there is a map of the south polar regions and attached to the verso of the rear panel is a four page fold out map of the north west passage – which shows no damage. Throughout the text there are other maps also present. Illustrated paperback binding with white coloured titles to the front panel and black coloured titles to the back strip. Black and white photograph of author to the verso of the front panel.
