The front cover lightly rubbed and there are heavy white stains to the rear cover. 40 pages, illustrated with a black & white frontispiece and textual illustrations [facsimiles]. There is light soiling to the front edge of 1 page. Very good. <p>Inscribed by the author on the verso of the frontispiece: "To my friend Henry Brewer with all good wishes / Wilbur Macey Stone / April 1941".<p>Very scarce.

Description:
The Triptych. NY. 1924. Limited Edition #37/99 Book size about 7 1/2 by 7 1/2 inches with unnumbered pages (Total of 34 leaves with 28 of those printed on one side only). Bound in hand colored tan paper covered boards with cream cloth spine. Illustrated throughout with hand colored images of penny toys. Book of rhymes about penny toys--a bit whimsical, a bit humorous. Reminiscent of some of those English children's books of the late 1800's with their nonsensical rhymes. The author (Who wrote several other books--including the subjects of miniature books, miniature Bibles, bookplates, etc.) amassed a major collection of children's books (Later donated to a library) and was a driving force in miniature books of the early 20th century. I have noted that the other two contributors mentioned by initial only at the front of the book have been identified as William Jordan and Jay Chambers.
