On 20 March, 1792 the French Penal Code decreed that every person condemned to death shall have his head severed by means of a machine - a practice that continued to the mid 1900's. 147 pages with 13 pages of illustrations. Book in very good+ condition with previous owners name on first page, some reader wear and small marks.Cover has knocks to corners and minor wear (se photos). No dust jacket.
