Five volumes in contemporary polished calf, gilt backs with decoration in four of the compartments, covers with gilt rules with acorn decorations at corners, bookplate of British clergyman Scrope Berdmore, dated 1790 front paste downs, bookplates at rear of Henry F; Compton, Conservative British MP known for having the shortest term (46 days) of an MP who did not die in office. A Very Good set, light wear at joints but bindings holding quite nicely, light wear at edges, toning at edges of end papers from binders glue. *** Heavy set.
