Both hinges are cracked with exposed netting and slight ink marks and dog-eared pages throughout. Boards have visible edge wear and rubbing with heavy bumping to corners. Major crushing to spine ends and splitting to joints. Boards are coming away from binding.

London: A. Wilson, 1810. An early-19th Century printing of Hume's great work of history, this being Volume VI only of ten in the original set. Full leather binding, gilt ruling on the covers; gilt decorations and titling on the spine. Clean text; 400 pages with marbled edges. While the book is titly bound, there are some condition issues. Corners are bumped and rubbed; chip on rear cover; the marbling on the page ends is faint. The front endpapers and paste-down are missing, with the book beginning with a publisher's advert. The textblock is wavy, no doubt from moist conditions at some time (although there are no flood-marks. Some pages have creased corners at the bottom, having been turned at some time. Please note the condition issues. Quercus must offer this as a Binding Copy, in need of repairs or restoration.. Later Printing. Full-Leather. Good/No Jacket. 24mo - over 5" - 5¾" tall.

Dublin: Luke White, 1788. Hardcover. Poor/No Jacket. A New Edition, Corrected, To Which Is Added, A Complete Index'. In brown leather boards, with gilt dentelle on edges and to spine. The front board is detached; split down centre of spine and nearly in two pieces. The boards are quite clean, spine worn, especially to ends. Patterned end papers; fairly clean, book plate on front paste down. Gilt cut edges. The page block is more or less in two halves because of the split and each is tight and straight and marked on most pages. Name of previous owner and date on title page. Poor condition. Priced to take into account the condition.
