Illustrated with 24 pages of black and white photographs. Richard Deacon, a pseudonym of Donald McCormick, was a former Foreign Manager of the London Sunday Times after World War II. Deacon describes the complex history of the many and often competing secret services within the Chinese government. As part of his investigation into the subject, he sets up his own intelligence service- Operation Jackdaw- and describes how his field operatives and ham radio operatives managed to intercept and interpret Chinese secret service messages. Very Good+ minor wear and rubbing to extremities of binding otherwise clean and square, in Good, price-clipped dust jacket with 3" tear to upper edge of back cover.
