About This Item

Bedford: Longmans, Green, Reader & Dyer pp 318 including index. Illustrated with engravings and with real sepia photographs pasted onto blank white pages. Green cloth covered bevelled boards, gilt with light wear to corners and tiny tear to cloth at foot of spine. Front board has light speckled colour loss. The pages on wich the photographs are mounted are spotted and this spotting has transfered to adjacent pages. Last page of index is yellowed and this, together with rear endpaper, has a few spots. Front pastedown inscribed "The Very Reverend Dr. Goulbourn" Part of the inscription is obscured by Dr. Goulbourn's Book Plate but the remainder of the inscription suggests that this is a presentation copy from the author.
