The Fall 1996 issue of the Historic Huntsville Quarterly of Local Architecture and Preservation contains restoration case studies of several Huntsville houses that were nearly demolished, such as Cedarhurst and the Ward House, but instead were restored to spectacular results historically and financially. The issue also contains a longer, more in-depth case study by restoration architect Harvie P. Jones of the Bernstein House, a rare surviving 1880s middle class house. This issue also contains several articles about the nuts and bolts of historic preservation, with information about various historic preservation agencies and activities.
