HARDCOVER, bound in contemporary calf and marbled boards, spine gilt with raised band, marbled endpapers, French vellum corners; front board neatly reattached, inner first hinge slightly cracked. With the rare original lithographic front wrapper bound-in. Foxing, some finger soiling, else in good condition. ~ FIRST EDITION. The work appears here in its completion. The Atlas, which originally was published separately in Orléans by Alphonse Gatineau, is here part of the book. Dedicated by the Author on the original cover to Lieutenant General (.). [PROVENANCE:] From the private collection of Ludovicus Mirandolle (1904-1974), Dutch theologian and composer. With his signature next to the author's dedication and small blind stamp to first blanks. Very rare. Not in Jordan. G-3
