Second edition, out of print since 1943 when it appeared as a private press book. Illustrated throughout. A touching Christmas story following Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence and their children, a wealthy and happy family who enjoy every comfort. But this year their festivities are disrupted by the arrival of two refugees with nowhere else to go. Written by Dame Daphne du Maurier, Lady Browning, an English novelist, biographer and playwright. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, excellent. Original unclipped dust wrapper is smart with a 1" closed tear to the tail of the spine. Sunning to the spine and panel edges.
