Sayers The first edition, first impression of this scarce work.An excellent collection of short stories, the ninth work in the Lord Peter Wimsey series, featuring four Peter Wimsey tales, six Montague Egg short stories, and two other stories.Sayers was a prolific author of crime fiction during the Golden Age of Detective Fiction, and one of the 'Queens of Crime', alongside notable others such as Agatha Christie and Ngaio Marsh.This is a smart copy of an uncommon Sayers first edition. Rebacked, in the publisher's original cloth binding, with boards restored and back strip laid down. Retaining the original endpapers. Bumping to back strip head and tail, with light spotting to cloth of spine. Light spotting to fore edge of text block. Tail of rear hinge starting, with board holding firm. Internally, firmly bound. Light spotting to title page, with the odd spot throughout. Very Good
