New York: Harper & Brothers, 1953. Hardcover. Near Fine/good. [4], 314, [2] p.; 21 cm. Black cloth spine with white and red spine title; light blue paper over boards. Illustrated dust jacket in mylar cover. Stated First Edition. The story of young lovers in southern Italy who find themselves at odds with the local Communist party. Book is in Near Fine Condition: front endpapers discolored; otherwise, clean and tight. Dust jacket is in Good Condition: loss at ends of spine, in the middle of the spine, and at upper edge of front section; spine is sunned; upper corner of front flap is clipped although price is stamped at lower corner; rubbed.
