Profusely illustrated with photographs in black and white and color. The illustrated story of Hammer Films, Britain's leading purveyor of horror films to the world. From 1955 to 1972, it produced a legacy of frightening films (many of which are today cult classics) like Dracula, The Curse of Frankenstein, Kiss of The Vampire, The Curse of the Werewolf. The Devil Rides out and hundreds of others. The Hammer stars are remembered here as well---Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee, Oliver Reed and also, in some cases surprisingly, Bette Davis, Ursula Andress, Raquel Welch and others. Included is a section od biographical sketches of Hammer stars and other key personnel.
