Clean green clothboards with unchipped gold lettering and gold portrait of a pipe-smoking man on cover, gold lettering on spine (somewhat dimmed). Binding is tight & square, no cracking. Some fraying to top and bottom spine edges. Pages and edges are clean; tasteful previous owner bookplate on front free endpaper which has caused some browning to preliminaries from offset reaction. Frontis illustration with clean tissue guard. Illustrations by Frederick Simpson Coburn; Introduction by Louis Frechette. 137 pp..
