Large 8vo; quarter red morocco, with matching bubbled cloth sides; spine tooled in compartments, with gilt lettering to second compartment; marbled endpapers; pp. (iv) + 716; plates, some of which with partial colour; illustrations and maps in text. Corners turned; cloth somewhat rubbed; moderate foxing throughout; short tear to top edge of a few leaves. Good condition. French text. (SABIB 4, p. 84) Record of the South African War, reflecting continental sympathy with the cause of the Boer guerillas. .
