Printed for H. Twyford, T Dring et al, 1657. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1657. No edition remarks. 474 pages. No dust jacket. Purple cloth with gilt lettering to spine stating a short version of title and 'John Cleland'. Includes additional 31-page table and 6 advert leaves to rear. Book has been rebound. Author is Michael Hawke, not directly stated. Latin dedication to 'Principi, Patri Patriae' ie Cromwell. Pages are heavily tanned and thumbed at the edges. Heavy foxing throughout. Crossed-out inscriptions to title page, with noticeable marginalia throughout. Large surface tear to front pastedown. Hinges and guttering are cracked. Binding is loose. Small burn mark to 2nd to last page of adverts, causing small hole. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Notable tanning to spine and edges. Boards area little bowed. Book has a notable forward lean. Moderate water stains to boards and spine.
