About This Item

Ridgefield, CT; Tokyo: CPC Publishing; Taro Kaneda: Treville, 1992. First Edition. Both volumes warmly INSCRIBED on the half title by the photographer in 1993 in Los Angeles. Tall quartos; unpaginated. Stunning black & white photographhic plates (some fold-out). Fine copies with a hint of wear; small mark to 2nd free endpaper of Volume I. Greg Gorman's career as a photographer began in 1968 with a series of shots of a Jimi Hendirx concert; he then took photographs of a Doors concert and of one given by Janis Joplin. His work ranges from fine art, male and female nudes, to advertising campaigns, magazines and graphics for films (such as Tootsie, The Big Chill, James Bond and Man in the Iron Mask). Gorman's photographs have appeared in many major international magazines, such as GQ, Vogue, Newsweek, Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone.
