Haganoae [Hagenau], Ex Officina Seceriana, , 1534. Part one only (of 2). 8vo. A-Z,AA-EE8, FF4. Woodcut Setzer device (Janus) on verso of last leaf. Minor marginal worming to first few leaves, not affecting letters of text; a couple of leaves with light waterstaining; some early headlines cropped or cut close. Greek text only, lacks Camerarius scholia, published in the second part. Uncommon fourth printing of Sophocles in Greek, one of the principal editions between the Aldine of 1502 and Turnebus edition of 1553. Later sixteenth-century vellum, with later red morocco label, lacks ties. Near contemporary signature of Johann Behem on the title; signature on lower pastedown: Fesendorff, 1577; Nineteenth century inscription on title, possibly Bibliothek Grissrring; ink stamp of Repton School on title, and armorial bookplate of Laurence Arthur Burd (1863-1931), philatelist, expert on Machiavelli and teacher at Repton (where the Burd Library is named for him).
