The author here recounts his voyage around Greek islands and into Constantinople (Istanbul), with his voyage up the Danube into Romania. A contemporary name on the free front endpaper and rubbing to the extremities.

Illustrated with full color maps. INSCRIBED (most probably) to Supreme Court Justice John M(arshall) Harlan on the second front paper.
