By a confidential friend of the departed. Embellished by portraits of the Fitzclarence family. FIRST EDITION c.1830?. Bound in sixes, approximately 170 x 100 mm, 7 x 4 inches, engraved portrait frontispiece and 9 engraved portraits only of 11, 266 pages, full calf, gilt lettered label and floral gilt decoration to spine, triple gilt rules to edges of covers, gilt dentelles, dark blue coated endpapers, all edges gilt, bound by Riviere & Son, their name at bottom of first blank endpaper. Slight rubbing to hinges, title page slightly dusty, pale soiling to engraved portraits, slight rubbing to outer edge of page 38 with loss to a few words, amateur inking in, small hole to text of page 98 affecting 2 words, 1 on recto and 1 on verso, a few other minor marks or pale stains, good copy, in nice binding (lacking 2 portraits as noted).
