Paris: Armand Colin, 1947. Later printing. Association Copy, INSCRIBED by the author on the half-title page to activist and actress Fola La Follette: "Pour ma géniale Fola / avec mon amour / Ferny / 31 Mai 1949" ["For my brilliant Fola / with my love / Ferny / May 31 1949"].
La Follette's nephew David Middleton's ownership stamp on the front pastedown.
The daughter of Senator Robert M. "Fighting Bob" La Follette and women's suffrage leader Belle Case, Flora Dodge "Fola" La Follette was a stage actress, teacher, and writer, as well as an activist for the women's suffrage and labor movements.
Poor in wrappers, with front hinge split, spine reinforced with brown paper tape along the spine, and moderate wear and chipping overall.
