Written as his doctoral thesis for "Doctor of Philosophy" at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Elisha Qimron's work is a important examination of the grammar of the Hebrew language as it appears in the text of the famous Dead Sea Scrolls. Among the topics covered in detail are the historical-linguistic context of the work, as well as its orthography, phonology, morphology, verbs, conjugation, and noun patterns. The main text of the work is in Hebrew with an addition 25 page section in English, including a table of contents and an extended summary of the work. The thesis was carried out under the supervision of the prominent ancient Semitic linguistic scholars and professors Yechezkel Kutscher (1909-1971) and Avi Hurvitz (b.1936). Binding with light bumping and sunning to extremities. A few light smudges and scratches to the covers. Interior with the name the ink stamp of the previous owner, the biblical scholar Dr. Leila Bronner, on the rear free endpaper. Pages throughout lightly sunned along the edges. Notes from the previous owner in pencil on the interior front cover. Book block tight. Binding in very good-, interior in very good condition overall.
