Magazine. 24p. includes covers, 8.5x11 inches, news, art, poetry, services & resources, ads, events, directory, heavy toning and staining, rusty staples else fair newsletter in stapled wraps. Lesbians in Waukesha. Several Drag photos and reports. Updates on local activities, discussions of the Movement, ads, photos, services, etc. Literary reviews. Issues for Oct. 1971 - Nov. 1974 lack volume and issue numbering but constitute v.1, #1 - v.4, #2. Volume numbering begins with v.4, #3 (Dec. 1974). The Gay People's Academic Union grew out of a University of a Wisconsin-Milwaukee student organization the Gay Liberation Organization which first met in 1970. The GPU was founded in 1971 and opened the first Gay & Lesbian Community Center.
