About This Item
Philadelphia, Westminster,1975, 1975. Soft cover. Very Good/Unknown. 12 mo, softcover,VG in blue and white wraps. One of the Daily Study Bible Series. Language is not academic but warm and human. Introduction and interpretation by Barclar. 400 pp. The Gospel according to Saint Matthew, the first book of the New Testament. Barclay gives text for each day's study in his own language and follows up with two or three pages of commentary. He can make the passages burst with meaning--the deciples for example represented diverse, even antagonistic, elements of the Judaeo-Roman world, two would have killed each other had it not been for Jesus.
