First Meteyard Illustrated Edition. viii, 153 pp. With 25 tipped-in color plates from illustrations by Sidney H. Meteyard on thick-stock paper with gilt ruling and borders, each with captioned tissue-guards; gilt-decorated title page. 9½x7¼, gilt-decorated and lettered golden-brown cloth. Shelf wear, a bit of soiling, corners bumped, faint green staining to middle of front cover, hinges tender, occasional small stains, previous owner's inked signature from 1928 on the front pastedown; color plates clean and bright, about very good. Longfellow's medieval tale in irregular rhyme. See scan. L87
