About This Item
London: Folio Society, 2013. Like New. The book is tight with solid hinges, good tips, and clean unmarred boards. The textblock is clean with no writing, bookplate, or markings and not BCE, ex-library, or remaindered. Color and black and white illustrations. Printed endpapers. Introduced by Tristam Hunt. Slipcase has very faint wear. 278 pages. 6½ x 9¾" tall.
A nuanced biography of Oliver Cromwell, breaking down Cromwell's life from fenland farmer and humble backbencher; stalwart of the good old cause and the New Model Army; a key figure of the Commonwealth; and, finally to Lord Protector. Christopher Hill leads the reader unsentimentally through Cromwell's life from his beginnings in Huntingdonshire to his brutal end.
