Single leaf, folded pamphlet [iv] pp. Meher Baba (b.1894 - d.1969) was an Indian spiritual Master who said he was the Avatar of God in human form and taught that each soul is God passing through imagination in order to realize its own divinity. He taught that the goal of all beings was to gain consciousness of their own divinity, and to realise absolute oneness of God. His spiritual system was an amalgam of Sufi, Vedic, and Yogic terminology and he had had hundreds of thousands of followers during his lifetime. Uncommon pamphlet collecting various statements advising against the use of hallucinogens by the Indian spiritual leader Meher Baba (1894-1969), an important figure in the 1960s counterculture. Baba warns that LSD and related drugs cannot provide a shortcut to true spiritual awakening, and indeed may only lead one further from such a goal. An interesting counterargument to the view, then prevalent among advocates of psychedelic experimentation, that such substances possess the de facto power of entheogenic revelation.
