In the publisher's original cloth binding with decorative gilt. With thirty-five illustrations. Collated complete.Contemporary ink inscriptions to the front free endpaper, dated 1866, 1888 and 1889.This is an illustrated edition of Thomas Campbell's romantic epic which, although it was well received, did not provide financial success for the author. It takes place in the context of the Battle of Wyoming. In the original cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Slight rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with a few scattered spots throughout. Contemporary ink inscriptions to the front free endpaper. Very Good Indeed
