Purple cloth with gilt & black decoration on spine and front board, blind stamp on rear board, blue endpapers. 6 b&w plates, including tissue-covered frontispiece. Some areas of very light foxing on endpapers, light browning in margins of pages, one or two very small foxing marks thoughout pages, a few slight separations between page gatherings but holding firmly in binding, moderate to heavy browning to edges of text block, wrinkling and heavy wear at top/bottom of spine, light to moderate edge wear, slight curl at corners of boards, heavy sun fading to spine, top edge of rear board and rear hinge, moderate general fading to boards, four pages with a faint imprint of laid-in fern leaf, four page leaves not trimmed during manufacture, very small area of surface paper loss in top margin of frontispiece.
