Fawcett specialized in publishing paperbacks with lurid colors, sexy artwork, and attention grabbing blurbs (especially for the 1940s). Despised by traditional hardcover publishers, Fawcett and Lewis' sales tactics made them and Caldwell quite wealthy. They published and sold many of Caldwell's novels in cheap paperback editions with colorful covers after the hardcover edition came out, placing the lurid paperback novels in untraditional book sales outlets - like gasoline stations. Lewis in particular was a superstar at getting gas stations to accept racks of Caldwell's sexy paperbacks. Ships same or next business day.
