London: MacMillan and Co., Limited, 1898. 168 pp. Olive cloth covers with gilt image of flowers, faded gilt title lettering on front and spine. Cover corners are bumped and rubbed to boards, edges rubbed, fading to color, dirt smudges and wear to cover faces, rubbing to joints, wear to spine, spine ends are torn and fraying. Loose hinges. Foxing to endpapers and throughout interior pages. Spine broken within interior. Browning along edges of interior. Book in Good- to Good condition.. Fourth Edition. Cloth. Good. Illus. by Drawings. Size: Approx. 5 1/4" x 8 1/4". Memoir.

Macmillan & Co, 1902. Hardcover. Acceptable. 1902. Reprinted, 10th thousand. 168 pages. No dust jacket. Blue cloth with gilt titles to spine. Includes illustrations. Pages have deckled edges. Publisher's adverts to rear. Pages have some foxing, tanning and minor thumbing. Front endpaper has been removed. Hinges are intensely cracked with exposed netting, and feeling very loose. Foxing more intense towards the start and end of the book. Pencil inscriptions to pre title page. Text block edges are very uneven. Boards have some edge wear, with slight bumping and fraying to corners, while spine ends are very crushed and frayed and torn. Slightly scratched, rubbed and marked overall. Slight water staining to front. Spine is noticeably sunned. Book has a heavy forward lean. Gilt is dulled and worn.

Library copy, with expected inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Pages have mild tanning and foxing throughout, moderate at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding remains reasonably firm. Hinges are cracked with exposed netting. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Moderate crushing to spine ends, with splitting, fraying and loss to the head, tail and joints. Book has a slight forward lean. Card panels have mild rubbing with minor pencil mark to front cover. Moderate tanning to spine.
