About This Item
[np]: [Detroit?], 1967. Single color screenprint, entirely unmarked, measuring 31" x 11.5" Originally purchased from a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania estate that had many posters from the Haight-Ashbury scene of the 1960s and '70s. Presumably made by a graphic artist in connection with the 1967 Ford strike, but entirely without attribution. Very Good, toned with age, somewhat unevenly; staple holes in the four corners, another tiny hole nearby in upper left corner. Vertical crease on the left side, minor bumping, overall very gently used.
A striking, anonymous piece of political detournement, turning the iconic Ford Motor Company logo into the magnetic north of four-letter obscenities. We have been unable to learn any specific details of this poster's history.
