New York: A. S. Barnes & Co. , 1869. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket. Gilt lettering on leather spine, blind stamped title on the front & back black boards. 8vo, 312pp. plus appendix & ads. Fold-out Celestial map present, but some edges separating. the leather spine covering is split down the middle and worn at the top edge. The first free end paper is beautifully inscribed by S Elwood Ream, Millersville State Normal School, PA, Dec. 30th, 1869. Below his inscription is drawn a large calligraphic feather. Also on the fist free end paper is written: "59-003" . There is also (unfortunately) the more recent signature of "D. Frey, 1961".
