Durable olive green cloth covers with pictorial insert of man in top hat walking toward a town. Spine has a pictorial of a pitcher and goblet on a table. Not ex-library. Cover and spine print in white and gilt. 10 books by Smith listed on page prior to half title. Frontispiece with tissue paper guard, 7 other illustrations listed on VII and VIII. 224 pp with 4 pp of advertisements. Aside from wear to white print and lines, cover panels are in near fine condition. Spine has light ends' wear with some bending. Light wear to edges and corner tips. Clean with no writing or names. Cannot see any foxing, if so very limited. Spine cloth not completely glued to gatherings. Raised paper lines on pastedown and first page of ffep, crease extends to title page, but gets fainter on ensuing pages. Page toning/tanning. Wear on ffep corner, a few pages with corner or margin creasing. Creasing extends into text on a couple of pages.

From the estate of my great-great grandfather.Includes many unique poems and recitations such as "To a skull", "Uncle Daniel's Introduction to a Mississippi Steamer", "The Leak in the Dyke", etc. More well-known poetry includes "Song of Birds", "Old Ironsides", and "Bannock Burn" by Robbie Burns. Light rubbing and bumps to outside spine edges. Back cover and interior cloth covered board has a stain at top. Original owner's name and address from 1908, but no other writing or marks. First 2 pages have a stain at top, but text of 192 pages of poetry and recitations is totally clean with light tanning of pages.
