About This Item
Dodd, Mead and Company, New York, 1898. Good. Possible third ed., 1898 (there are copyright dates for 1891 and 1893 as well); deckle edges; 124 p., immaculate and unmarked anywhere--not ex-lib., no former owner's name, no gift inscription; quite beautiful sepia ill and ornamentation by Will F. Lowe, including leafy tree in shades of green embossed against gilt background on front board and with lettering on spine--gilt effaced in places; binding firm, but just beginning to crack at back gutter; paper strong and of fine quality but mildly age-toned with occasional foxing; in absence of d.j. there is light wear--some rubbing at crown and foot of spine, slight bumping of corners. Faint "old-book" smell gratis.
