About This Item

London England: Cassell & Co, 1956. Hardback. First Edition. Foreign Birds For Casge and Aviary. Waxbills, Weavers, Whydahs. Foxing to end inside covers and edge. Wear and tear to D/J. Mark to front D/J. from removal of old label. The three groups of foreign birds described in this book are all extremely popular, and from the beginner's point of view each group contains several species which are cheap to buy and very easy to manage, Some rarer species are described which are much more expensive, and a few which are not too easy to acclimatize. The majority are, from the point of view of price, within the treach of most bird-lovers, and even the more delicate species may be kept in sound health for a number of years if their needs are understood. An attempt has been made here to set out the essentials of good management for each individual species. Nones of the birds in any of these three groups is large. In fact, most of them are small and can be kept satisfactorily in cages. Illustrated. 116 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions, Reference books ,and all types of Academic Literature.). First Edition. Cloth. Very Good/Fair. Illus. by Sheila Dorrell. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" Tall Octavo. Hardback.
