London: Ernest Nister 256 pp + (8) pp publisher's advertising, 7 3/8" H. No date (c1900). Light green cloth with gilt & black lettering, black/red/ white/blue illustrations on spine/front board. Colour frontispiece, b&w illustrations. Jerry Baskerville appears to be an orphan, surviving in a brutal boarding school. But an encounter with a highwayman and experiences with the Light Dragoons in Revolutionary France help unravel the mystery of his past. New front endpapers. Light to moderate browning to pages, several separations between page gatherings but pages are still holding firmly, browning to edges of text block, light edge wear - moderate at bottom corners, light wrinkling at top/bottom of spine, light soiling to boards, light browning to spine, book is slightly cocked, small ghost sticker mark on front board, light foxing to rear endpapers..
