The Flag and the Faithful

He began his career by writing the Ashland Kentucky Weekly Review. He wrote many interesting books and comical poems called Yawps. The Yawps were printed in the New York Sun and published in Yawps and Other Things.

The Flag and the Faithful is a poetry with the theme of a faithful dog named Muggsie. The dog Muggsie has died and was buried wrapped in the American Flag. This made a Washington lady complain to the United States Secretary of War to admonish the soldiers of the Government Aviation Station for burying their dog wrapped in the country?s flag.

Muggsie deserved to be buried with the flag because the dog has been good and faithful to his country. As Muggsie has rendered best service better than some people. Since the dog was treated as a best friend and as a very good and loyal dog.

Dogs should be treated fairly like a person. Some people who have dogs oftentimes isolate their dogs in that we call a dog house. Dogs also have feelings and they need to be pampered and cared for most of the time. Dogs as pets serve as guardians in the houses and barks when there is danger. It is much better to approach dogs in the right manner and to train them occasionally.

Dogs are best known as man?s best friend. Dogs are also known to be affectionate and reliable to their masters. They are good as companions too. Dogs are believed to feel the same as his master does. A dog is happy when his master is also happy; he is sad when his master is sad. A dog is one of the friendliest creature one could ever have.
