The text is illustrated with numerous black and white contemporary illustrations or photographs, some double paged. Dark blue boards with gilt writing on spine. Illustrated dustwrapper, showing Prince Alfred after being shot, black illustration with an orange wash overlay. White writing on front panel and on spine. Account of Prince Alfred's tour to Australia in 1867, where he was feted, shown huge outpourings of loyalty and shot! Rubbing of the book edges with very light age toning of the text block edges. Creasing of the top dustwrapper edge with a small tear to the top left hand corner of the front panel. Fading of the back strip. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [14], 3 - 196, [4] pages,.
