Red, cloth-covered boards with black lettering and illustration, illustrated endpapers, no inscriptions. The price clipped dust jacket has general wear including chips and closed edge tears. Various writers contributed to the Hardy Boys series over a number of decades, writing under the pen name of Franklin W. Dixon. This early story is attributed to Leslie McFarlane and was Volume 16 of the original Grosset & Dunlap publication. The dust jacket has the same basic artwork as the original publication.
