About This Item
New York: New International Publishing Company, 1946. 12mo. Card wrappers; 182pp. Clean, straight and tight - a Near Fine copy.
A systematic treatise, directed to a non-theoretical working-class audience, on the principles of Socialism. Essentially issued as a recruiting booklet for Shachtman's third-camp Trotskyist organization, The Workers Party, founded in 1940; but the book turned out to be one of the best of its kind, an important and eloquent document of post-war American socialism that was influential far beyond the relatively small number of enrolled members of the Party.
