Very mild rubbing and frayint to spine head and foot (two very small, less than quarter-inch fray tears to spine foot and head), gently bumped and frayed corners, light soiling to boards and spine, light reading crease to spine, faint fading to front and rear joint, light soiling to fore-edges, mainly to top fore-edge, four inch crack to front hinge, moderate spotting to four front endpapers, light spotting from front plate to page one, slightly loose page groupings throughout book, loose rear hinge, light spotting to pages throughout book, faint spotting to Appendices, Index, and rear endpapers, few outer page tears to fore-edge (small tears, less than quarter-inch), quarter-half inch tear to rear endpaper, quarter-inch tear to spine foot, rear board separated from spine head, but binding is solid, else Good. Binder's copy.. Olive green quarto, xxxii, 649 pages, 28 unnumbered leaves of plates (some folded), chiefly b&w illustrations (some color), maps; 26 cm.
