About This Item

New York: The New Press, 1998. First Printing. good, very good. 262, notes, index, ink underlining on a few pages, erasure residue on front endpaper. In this highly critical examination of free-market capitalism the author, a British philosopher, professor of economics, and well-known conservative political thinker, shows how globalization has hurt, among others, the British and the Mexican economies. He warns of a coming backlash against free-market capitalism by fundamentalist movements. He also suggests that imposing the American-style free market on the world is a recipe for disaster, and reverses his position on the conservative agenda.
