Edinburgh: Printed for Archibald Constable and Co. 1824, 2nd edition. (Half leather) xviii, 372p; xi, 288p, +appendix. Very good. TWO VOLUMES. 12mo. Half-polished tan leather over marbled boards. Five raised bands to spine, six compartments. Title and author compartment in dark brown leather, blindstamped decoration to other compartments, compartments ruled in gilt, lettering on spine in gilt. Edges of half-leather ruled with blindstamp. Boards rubbed, corners bumped. Bookplate to front pastedown of each volume. Foxing to foredge; foxing early and late. Folding map frontispiece in volume 1, lightly foxed, one closed tear at fold. Overall, this an exceedingly handsome set of an important work from the canon of travel and exploration..
